It Takes A Village

Who
We Are
We’re a group of parents and teachers who have come together to create a smartphone safe childhood for our children.
Our primary goals:
1. Provide children, parents, guardians, and teachers with key skills for digital wellness
-
Device safety and smartphone alternatives
-
Digital literacy for students
2. Banding together to decrease the pressure of having a smartphone at an early age
-
Encouraging parents and caregivers to take the wait until 8th pledge.
3. Promoting healthy screen-free childhood activities
We’re facing a mental health crisis
-
The earlier a child gets a smartphone, the worse their mental health outcomes.
-
By age 13, 94% of teens are using YouTube, and 58% are on TikTok.
-
Social media use leads to anxiety and depression in boys and girls.
-
The more time on social media, the worse the outcomes.
-
Young girls ages 10-14 yrs are especially vulnerable to the effects.
