November 2024

We are simplifying our newsletters to just include important announcements and a calendar of events, which will also come home in your Thursday folders before the start of each month.

If you'd like more information on the events listed on the calendar, you can find the full details on the event listing located on events page of the website.

We hope you enjoy this simplified format!

Principal's Corner

Hello Dragon Families,

Thank you for your support during our Parent-Teacher Conference Week. We know the change in schedules can be difficult and hope you found some opportunity for extra family time together. Thanks to our PTC for providing staff with a much-appreciated luncheon on Wednesday during Conference Week. It was a treat to have such good food to help us get through the week!

With Dia de Los Muertos and Halloween right around the corner, we’re sure you and your family are feeling the excitement! We are too! For the Halloween Parade, we ask that children refrain from bringing any hand-held props to school. Peaceful, non-violent themes are appreciated. Hand-held props are sometimes a distraction for students as well as a terrible disappointment if it is lost that day. Both TK/Kindergarten and 1st-5th grade parades are on the school website calendar. Look to your classroom teachers for specific instructions and times regarding Halloween costumes and festivities.

Thanks to your donations, our PTC was able to purchase four new bike racks which have considerably improved our capacity for bikes at school. There are two new bike racks near the bike path from Park Way and two new bike racks near the Prospect Heights Driveway entrance. We have plans for those areas to be leveled out and resurfaced in the near future. We ask that all bikes do not proceed past those racks to safely separate bikes from pedestrians in the walking areas.

With appreciation,

Thien Hua - Principal
