Principal's Corner
Hello Dragon Families,
Thank you for your generous donations to our PTC Pledge Drive. We recognize that many families are feeling the pinch of inflation from the gas tank to the grocery store and also on Amazon! Yet, through all of that, you were able to help us raise over $54,000 toward our PTC Pledge Drive. This means we’ll be able to enrich learning during the school day with expanded services in the Library, LifeLab, and extra help in the classroom. We will also be offering after school enrichment with various talented folks. Be ready for origami, chess, and acting. Thanks again!
On the cusp of October, we will have much in store for you at school. There are Fall Conferences taking place from October 19-23. What a great opportunity to have individual face-time with your child’s teacher! During that week, all dismissals will be early - in essence, short days! Leading up to Conference Week, you will also have two days off from school on October 15th & 16th. This is a great opportunity to do something extra special with your kids over the extra long weekend!
This year, our Halloween Parade will be taking place on Friday, October 30th from 8:45-9:15 for TK/K and 2:00-2:30 for Grades 1st thru 5th. It’s a wonderful opportunity to have some fun with our Dragons at school. Dust off those costumes, dress up, and be ready for the cutest parade in town!
With gratitude,
Thien Hua
Principal

✨Volunteer Spotlight
A big thank you to Andy Cunningham and Whitney Tilton who ran our Pledge Drive this year. We are so grateful for their hard work in making this Pledge Drive a success.
🐉 2026-2027 Pledge Drive - Update
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our annual Pledge Drive from August 20th through September 11th! We are thrilled to announce that we have raised $55,000, reaching 92% of our $60,000 goal. This total includes an anticipated $1,000 from newly set up monthly recurring donation plans between now and the end of the school year in May.
Thanks to the generosity of approximately 40% of our families, we have already reached 97% of last year’s total fundraising amount. Your incredible support ensures we can continue funding vital classroom supplies, student assemblies, yard duty, and the community events that make DeLaveaga so special.
We are officially shifting our focus to the district-wide Drive for Schools initiative — keep an eye out for raffle ticket sales! Drive for Schools is a great way to engage supportive neighbors, coworkers and relatives in supporting our students and staff at DeLaVeaga. Sometimes people are really motivated by a chance to win something for a good cause!
It is never too late to help us close that final 8% gap. If you haven’t had a chance to give yet, you can still easily make a one-time or recurring gift using our Pledge Drive donation page. Even $5-10 per month helps us hit our goal.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for making this an amazing year for our students. Go Dragons!
